1.A Signum Memoriae of Franz Josef, 1898. Obverse bearing a portrait of Franz Josef, reverse inscription reads SIGNUM MEMORIAE surrounded by laurel wreath, 33.5 mm, evidence of light wear on obverse, on original triangular ribbon, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Jubilee Medal (Signum Memoriae) was a military award of Austria–Hungary. Established on 21 October 1898 by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, it commemorates 50 years of his reign. The medal was awarded to members of the Austro–Hungarian armed forces.
2. Austria, Empire. A Bronze Bravery Medal. Obverse bearing the image of Emperor Franz Joseph I, reverse inscription reads DER TAPFERKEIT, on original silk Austrian 'tri-fold' ribbon, obverse scratching evident, ribbon slightly worn, 31 mm, in very fine condition.
Footnote: The medal was instituted on 19 July 1789 by Emperor Joseph II and awarded for bravery in battle until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918.
3.Austria, Empire.A Viennese Citizens Association Membership Badge, With Case, By Reinemer & Spiegel. Enameled bronze badge, obverse inscription WIENER BÜRGER VEREINIGUNG on white enameled scrolls, obverse center bearing the relief image of Vienna City Hall above an enameled coat of arms, center top between the white scrolls sits a gilded castle front, reverse with an attachment clip maker marked “REINEMER & SPIEGEL, WIEN VIII, 49mm (h) x39 mm (w), extremely fine condition. Housed in the original case, exterior lid bearing a coat of arms within a stylized border, interior marked REINEMER & SPIEGEL GRAVIR-ANSTALT WIEN VII LINDENGASSE 42.
4.Austria, Empire. A Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria in Silver. Red and white enameled cross attached to a suspension of a silvered Republic-style Austrian national eagle surrounded by an enameled shield of the Austrian states, on original red and white ribbon, 70 mm (h) x 50 mm (w), evidence of some scratching on reverse, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria was first instituted on 4 November 1922. It initially had ten grades; later, it was expanded to sixteen grades. It was replaced in 1934 by the Austrian Order of Merit.
