(Leopold Orden Ritterkreuz). Instituted on January 8, 1808 by Franz I. Of post war Rothe manufacture, a cross pattee constructed of bronze gilt with red and white enameled arms, the obverse with a central red enameled medallion, inscribed “F.I.A” for “Franciscus Imperator Austriae”, surrounded by a ring of white enamels, inscribed “Integritati et Merito” (Latin - Integrity and Merit), the reverse with a central white enameled medallion, inscribed “Opes regum corda subditorum” (Latin - The deeds of the Kings win the hearts of their subjects), surrounded by a gilt oak wreath, suspended from a hollow and partially enameled royal crown, with a partial laurel wreath, suspended from sash, unmarked, measuring 48.54 mm (w) x 89.32 mm (h - with its crown suspension), light wear, extremely fine. Accompanied by the matching star of the order, featuring an eight point silver star with clusters of faceted rays, hand finished, the obverse with a central red enameled medallion in gilt, inscribed “F.I.A” for “Franciscus Imperator Austriae, surrounded by a ring of white enamels, inscribed “Integritati et Merito” (Latin - Integrity and Merit), reverse presents a single pin assembly, measures 88.8 mm (h) x 90.8mm (h), weighs 82.00 grams, enamels intact, lovely patina, in extremely fine condition.
