A group of five Austrian badges and medals, including a a Military Merit Medal in Silver, constructed of silver, with a crown suspension and its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Franz Joseph I circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “SIGNUM LAUDIS” (“SIGN OF PRAISE”) inside of a laurel and oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 31.96 mm (w) x 51.87 mm (h), weighing 20.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
A 40-Year Faithful Service Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Franz Joseph I circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “XXXX ANNORUM” (“40 YEARS”) circumscribed by an additional inscription of “SIGNUM LABORIS FIDELITER PERACTI” (“SIGN OF FAITHFUL WORK”), unmarked, measuring 34.23 mm in diameter, weighing 24.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
A 1916 Iron Cross of Merit, constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Ruppert Cross, the obverse with a central monogram of Franz Joseph I circumscribed by an inscription of “VIRIBUS UNITIS” (“UNITED FORCES”), the reverse with a central date of “1916”, unmarked, measuring 34.49 mm (w) x 38.84 mm (h), weighing 17.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
