Germany, Federal Republic. A Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, 1957 Version by Rudolf Souval, c. 1970

 (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub - Ausführung 1957). Constructed of iron, silver, and neusilber, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed neusilber frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an eyelet affixed with a Oak Leaves, constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of three overlaid oak leaves, the reverse with malleable rings retaining an original length of neck ribbon, the cross unmarked, the Oak Leaves stamped on the reverse with a silver content number of “800”, the former measuring 48.13 mm (w) x 53.89 mm (h), the latter measuring 20.44 mm (w) x 19.72 mm (h), weighing 35.2 grams overall, a late-issue 1957 version produced by Rudolf Souval, Vienna, c. 1970 for veteran replacement and collector display, in extremely fine condition.
