In bronze, obverse illustrating the two-headed Albanian eagle surmounted by the Albanian crown, maker marked "LORIOLI MILANO ROMA" to the right of the eagle, within a circular frame composed of knotted ropes, inscribed "MIKME KRYE ME BESE E BURRNI' " above and "AMICO FINO AL SACRIFICIO CONFEDE E CORRAGGIO" below, the inscriptions separated by a cluster of oak leaves and acorns on either side, reverse illustrating a series of mountains and a lake, with various places marked on it, surmounted by the Italian crown and surrounded by the inscription "CAMPAGNA DI GRECIA E JUGOSLAVIA / 28 OTTOBRE 1940 - 23 APRILE 1941 - XIX", inscribed "9° ARMATA" below, flanked by knotted ropes on either side, with an fasces below and engraver marked "P. MORBIDVCCI", measuring 60.8 mm in diameter, oxidation spots evident on both sides, very fine.
Footnote: During the Second World War, the Italian 9th Army was involved in the abortive Italian invasion of Greece in 1940, and the Invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941. It then became the Italian garrison of the occupied or annexed territories of the Kingdom of Albania and the Italian governorate of Montenegro until the Italian surrender in 1943.
