Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei I. Klasse für 25 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse overlaid by a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath bearing a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by a central oval medallion bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 42.92 mm (w) x 47.78 mm (h), weighing 24.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux blue-green leather liner, the lid bearing a gilt number “25” within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and grey velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating moderate material fatigue to the case, in overall near extremely fine condition.
