Sweden, Kingdom. An Order of the North Star, I Class Knight in Gold

(Nordstjärneorden). Instituted 1748 by King Frederick I. In Gold, consisting of a white enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials, crowns in each quadrant, obverse centre presenting a white enamelled star on a blue background, encircled by the Motto NESCIT OCCASUM (It knows no decline), reverse presents matching centre, with an ornate Royal crown suspension, measuring 38.38 mm (w) x 57.46 mm (h - inclusive of crown, and integral suspension loop), weighs 17.52 grams (including ribbon), on replacement black silk ribbon, small enamel chip to blue enamel on the obverse central medallion, oxidation to the Gold crowns, otherwise extremely fine condition.

Contained in original red leatherette case, interior lid in silk marked CARLMAN, the base offering a partial black velvet medal bed, measures 61 mm (w) x 98 mm (h) x 25 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, remains in very fine condition.
