Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Red Eagle, IV Class Cross

(Roter Adler Orden Kreuz IV. Klasse). Instituted 12 June 1792 by King Friedrich Wilhelm II. (1864-1918). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse overlaid by a central white enameled medallion bearing a hand-painted Prussian imperial eagle, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm II, unmarked, measuring 38.72 mm (w) x 42.50 mm (h), weighing 16.8 grams, demonstrating some careful repairs to the enamel which obscures some of the paint, with an additional small chip to the top right edge, a Type V award in better than very fine condition.
