In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Fotos). A large and fascinating group of 82 private wartime photos from the estate of Oberleutnant Walter Neugebauer, a noted tank hunter who primarily served with Artillerie-Regiment 12 (12. Infanterie-Division and 12. Volksgrenadier Division) and was awarded three Tank Destruction Badges and the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (16 October 1944), spanning the length of Neugebauer’s wartime career and consisting both studio portraits and field photos, some depicting the owner with his impressive array of decorations, and in unusual uniform combinations (including helmet camouflage covers), supplemented by a small number of family photos and one modern print, with a small number featuring handwritten captions on the reverse, of various sizes, a superb collection in an overall near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: On 22 September 1944, while serving with 12. Batterie, Artillerie-Regiment 12, Walter Neugebauer effectively defended Donnerberg Hill against a sustained assault by US forces, personally destroying an American tank with a Panzerfaust (one of his overall three tank kills with handheld weapons). For his efforts, he was awarded the Knight’s Cross and earned the nickname “Der Teufel von Donnerberg” (“The Devil of Donnerberg”).
