Cuba, Republic. An Order of Camilo Cienfuegos

(Orden Camilo Cienfuegos), Three-piece construction, 33,7 mm wide and 33,8 mm high, weighing 30,7 grams, silvered and gilt metal with green enamel ring inscribed “Camilo Cienfuegos,” featuring a finely detailed portrait of the revolutionary commander at centre, reverse displaying the Cuban national coat of arms circumscribed “Republica de Cuba / Consejo de Estado,” fitted with a horizontal pinback, accompanied by its corresponding ribbon bar showing cracking to the yellow section, slight discolouration in the gilding, overall very fine.

Footnotes: The Orden Camilo Cienfuegos was instituted by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba on 10 October 1979 in honour of Commander Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán (1932–1959), a key figure of the Cuban Revolution and close ally of Fidel Castro and Ernesto “Che” Guevara. It is awarded to members of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces for exceptional merit in combat, leadership, and contributions to national defence. The decoration commemorates Cienfuegos’s legacy as one of the Revolution’s most charismatic military leaders, symbolising courage and loyalty within the Cuban military tradition.
