Cuba, Republic. A Lot of Six Cuban Armed Forces Medals

1. (Medalla Combatiente Internacionalista), gilt bronze circular medal depicting the Cuban flag above a map of Africa and Latin America within raised borders and the inscription “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a pentagonal ribbon of red with central blue and white stripes edged in green, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 30.2 mm wide x 35.1 mm tall including suspension ring, near extremely fine.

2. (Medalla Conmemorativa 30 Aniversario de las FAR 1956–1986), gilt bronze circular medal showing a revolutionary fighter carrying a rifle before a rising sun, with the inscription “30 ANIVERSARIO DE LAS FAR 1956–1986” (“30th Anniversary of the Revolutionary Armed Forces 1956–1986”) on the obverse and the Cuban coat of arms with “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a pentagonal ribbon of red with blue, white, and green edge stripes, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 32.1 mm wide x 37.3 mm tall including suspension ring, near extremely fine.

(Medalla 50 Aniversario de las FAR 1959–2006), silvered bronze circular medal showing the large numeral “50” above laurel branches and the inscription “FAR 1959–2006” on the obverse and the Cuban coat of arms with “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a pentagonal ribbon of green with a central red stripe bordered in black, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 32.3 mm wide x 37.4 mm tall including suspension ring, extremely fine.

4. (Medalla 60 Aniversario de las FAR 1956–2016), gilt bronze circular medal bearing the number “60” above laurel branches with the dates “1956–2016” on the obverse and the Cuban coat of arms with “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a pentagonal ribbon of green with central red stripe bordered by narrow blue and white edges, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 32.3 mm wide x 37.1 mm tall including suspension ring, extremely fine.

5. (Medalla Combatiente de la Columna Uno José Martí), gilt bronze circular medal depicting a standing militiaman before the sea surrounded by the inscription “COMBATIENTE DE LA COLUMNA UNO JOSÉ MARTÍ” (“Combatant of Column One José Martí”) on the obverse and the Cuban coat of arms with “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a pentagonal ribbon of green with central red stripe bordered by blue and white edges, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 32.1 mm wide x 37.3 mm tall including suspension ring, extremely fine.

6. (Medalla Fraternidad Combativa), gilt bronze circular medal featuring clasped hands before the Cuban flag symbolizing solidarity on the obverse and the Cuban coat of arms with “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”) on the reverse, suspended from a red pentagonal ribbon with light blue and white edge stripes, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar, 30.3 mm wide x 33.5 mm tall including suspension ring, extremely fine.

Footnote: These six decorations collectively represent the principal commemorative and service awards of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias, FAR), recognizing internationalist missions abroad, early revolutionary combatants of the Columna Uno José Martí, participants in the 1961 Playa Girón victory, and anniversaries of the FAR, while also highlighting the fraternal and ideological solidarity that underpinned Cuban military and international service throughout the latter half of the twentieth century.
