1. A veteran’s armband, constructed of black wool, the obverse bearing a white painted inscription of “SOUTH AFRICAN WAR VETERANS” within a rectangular frame of identical construction, retaining four drawstrings, unmarked, measuring 14.5 cm (w) x 9.5 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface, in extremely fine condition.
2. An Imperial Club armband, constructed of green wool felt with gilt paint, the interior stamped with a partially-legible Toronto maker’s mark, measuring 16.5 cm (w) x 9 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
3. Two South African War Veterans Association greeting cards, each constructed of card stock and featuring the stamp of the London, Ontario, branch of the organization, both measuring 10 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. A commemorative program for the return to Toronto of the 2nd Special Service Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment of Infantry, constructed of a paper stock binding with wax paper inserts, dated 27 December 1900, measuring 17.5 cm (w) x 24.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor discolouration, in near extremely fine condition.
5. A miniature Soldier’s New Testament, South Africa 1900, constructed of a canvas binding with 400 paginated interior pages, printed in London, measuring 7.5 mm (w) x 11.5 cm (h), demonstrating extensive material fatigue and some separation of the binding, in fair condition.
6. A group photograph of the Prince Edward Island South African Contingent, featuring members in uniform and with some clutching pith helmets, situated above names, and flanked by patriotic ribbons, in extremely fine condition.
7. A South African Campaign 1899-1902 commemorative medallion, constructed of bronze, unmarked, measuring 7 cm in diameter, accompanied by the lower half of its original presentation case, in very fine condition.
8. A studio portrait of The Lord Baden-Powell, in uniform during the Boer War and prior to his founding of The Boy Scouts Association, affixed to a card stock backer bearing the Cape Town studio mark of E. Peters, measuring 32.2 cm (w) x 41.5 cm (h), demonstrating extensive fatigue to the backer, in fair condition.
9. Two battlefield photos depicting the dead of the Battle of Spion Kop, each measuring 22.5 cm (w) x 18 cm (h) and secreted within a modern wooden frame retaining a glass face, in better than very fine condition.
