In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
A 1914-15 Star, bronze, full size, reverse impressed 10847 PTE. E. SCHOFIELD. L.N. LAN. R., original ribbon, areas of wear, very fine.
A British War Medal, silver, full size, rim impressed 10847 PTE. E. SCHOFIELD. L.N. LAN. R., original ribbon, areas of wear, dark patina, very fine.
A Victory Medal, bronze gilt, full size, rim impressed 10847 PTE. E. SCHOFIELD. L.N. LAN. R., replacement ribbon, areas of gilt wear, small edge knocks, very fine.
Footnote: Elias Schofield served with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, under service number 10847. He later served with the Suffolk Regiment under 34296.
During the First World War, the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment played a significant role across various major theatres of the conflict. As a line infantry regiment of the British Army, it expanded considerably during the war, fielding multiple battalions that served on the Western Front, in Gallipoli, Mesopotamia, and India.
On the Western Front, battalions such as the 1st and 2nd were engaged in some of the war’s most intense battles, including Ypres, Loos, the Somme, Arras, and Passchendaele. They endured the horrors of trench warfare and contributed to both defensive actions and major offensives. The 6th (Service) Battalion, formed as part of Kitchener’s New Army, notably saw action at Gallipoli in 1915, and later in Mesopotamia, participating in efforts to relieve the siege of Kut and push back Ottoman forces.
The regiment suffered heavy casualties but gained a reputation for resilience and professionalism. Like many British regiments, the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment left a legacy of sacrifice and service, with thousands of its soldiers killed or wounded by the war's end in 1918
