Thailand, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown of Thailand, I Class Grand Cross in Case

(Khrueang Ratcha-itsariyaphon An Mi Kiattiyot Ying Mongkut Thai). Instituted December 29th, 1869. An exceptional example of a Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand, I. Class Grand Cross set, consisting of: 

A sash badge, constructed of silver with gilded accents as well as red and blue enamels, the obverse consisting of a leaf with eight petals with a starburst pattern around the exterior of the badge, with a central Thai crown within dark blue and bright red enamels, the reverse with a central blue enameled medallion bearing Thai lettering surrounded by red enamels, suspended from a swivel Thai Crown using its period original sash ribbon, unmarked, measuring 56.2 mm (w) x 90.5 mm (l), notable enamel damage and gilt loss, remains near very fine. 

The breast star, constructed of silver with gilded accents as well as red and blue enamels, the obverse consisting of a leaf with eight petals with a starburst pattern around the exterior of the badge, the arms exhibiting crude carvings, with a central Thai crown within dark blue and bright red enamels, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge, vertical pinback, measuring 83.8 mm (w) x 83.7 mm (l), enamel damage to the red and blue central, very fine. 

Contained in a blue velvet box with gilt Thai symbol on the exterior lid, the interior featuring Thai characters denoting Heng Lee Gold Shop with the Mercedes logo, the base is removable and offers a white velvet recessed medal bed with sash compartment below, measures 193 mm (w) x 167 mm (h) x 75 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, very fine.
