(Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak). Instituted in 1964. A five-pointed star in white enamel, the obverse centerpiece bearing the coat of arms of Sarawak on a red-enameled field, circumscribed by a blue-enameled field with the inscription HIDUP SELALU BERHIDMAT SARAWAK, reverse plain, inclusive of suspension 59.3 mm (h) x 44.6 mm (w), original ribbon, enamels intact, slight gilt wear, extremely fine condition. In its hard shelled case of issue, the coat of arms of Sarawak on the lid, the interior lined in white satin, includes a golden medal bed, very fine. 

Footnote: The Most Exalted Order of the Star of Sarawak was established in 1964, a year after Sarawak's independence with the formation of Malaysia. It was awarded for meritorious service to the state and may only be conferred upon eight living persons.
