Exterior in a brownish-green cloth, the lid itself padded and incorporating Chinese text in gold-coloured ink placed vertically on the lid, the base and the lid with a gold-coloured multi-teeth zipper-like metal trim along the edges, inside lid and medal bed lined in white satin, a raised tab in the medal bed for placement of the award, hinged along the back edge, measuring 65 mm (w) x 125 mm (h) x 27 mm (d), sticker residue and scuffing evident on the exterior, light soiling present on the white satin lining on the inside lid, very fine.
Footnote: The Medal in Commemoration of Victory in the Resistance Against Aggression (AKA China War Memorial Medal) was authorized after the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) by the Republic of China government, for servicemen who assisted the Chinese Government fighting against the Japanese during the war. Members of the U.S. Fourteenth Air Force, the Flying Tigers, were eligible to be awarded this medal. The medal was created in 1944 and first distributed in 1946 to those who met the requirements from the Chinese Nationalist Government.
