A group of five Japanese medals, including: An Order of the Golden Kite, VII Class (no ribbon); An Order of the Rising Sun, VI Class (no ribbon); An Order of the Sacred Treasure, V Class (no ribbon); A WW1 Victory Medal; A China Incident War Medal.
Footnote: The Order of the Golden Kite was instituted on the 12th of February 1890 by Emperor Meiji; it was awarded for bravery, leadership or command in battle. The Order of the Rising Sun was instituted on 4 October 1875 by Emperor Meiji; it is awarded to people who have rendered distinguished service to the state in various fields except military service. The Order of the Sacred Treasure was instituted on 4 January 1888 by Emperor Meiji; it was established in recognition of long, faithful civil or military service, or for meritorious civil or military service. The Victory Medal was instituted on 17 September 1920 as a commemorative military medal of Japan awarded to mark service during the First World War. The China Incident War Medal was instituted on 27 July 1939 and awarded for service in China at any time from the 12th through the 20th years of the Shōwa period (1937–1945).
