1. A Cased Order of the Rising Sun, VI Class. (Kyokujitsu-Shō). Instituted April 10th, 1875. Constructed of silver, on a pierced ball and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon, the award consisting of an eight-pointed star with arms composed of three rays with cleft endings, the obverse with a central red glass cabochon, the reverse presenting a double-sided design, suspended by a green and violet enamel imperial symbol of the Paulownia flowers, with Japanese lettering on the reverse standing for “Order of Merit Decoration”, unmarked, measuring 45.8 mm (w) x 71.5 mm (l), weighing 35.78 grams, accompanied by its boutonniere and presentation case, constructed of glossy bakelite with a metal hinge that holds the lid to the base, the exterior of the lid embossed in Japanese lettering with the name of the award, measuring 68 mm (w) x 133 mm (l), in near mint condition.
2. A Cased Order of the Sacred Treasure, IV Class. (Zuihō-shō). Instituted January 4th, 1888. Constructed of silver, on a pierced ball and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon with a rosette on the ribbon with ten folds, the award consisting of a four-pointed star with five white-enameled rays per point, the obverse with a silver flower superimposed on blue enamel and surrounded by an intricate arrangement of sixteen ruby red cabochons, the reverse inscribed with the name of the award, unmarked, measuring 43.3 mm (w) x 48.2 mm (l), weighing 30.57 grams, accompanied by its boutonniere and presentation case, constructed of glossy bakelite with a metal hinge that holds the lid to the base, the exterior of the lid embossed in Japanese lettering with the name of the award, measuring 64 mm (w) x 103 mm (l), in near mint condition.
