In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A well-preserved 1940 edition of Hlinkova Garda a Slovenská Revolúcia (The Hlinka Guard and the Slovakian Revolution), compiled by Emo Bohúň and Gustáv Bežo. It is constructed of a heavy card stock binding, and secured together with six magnetic metal eyelets set into the spine, looped with an original drawstring which securely maintains the book’s structure. The cover retains a partially-intact Hlinka Guard emblem. The interior content consists of non-paginated paper stock pages pasted with black-and-white photographs of the rise to power of the Slovak People’s Party, with depictions of key figures such as Jozef Tiso and Andrej Hlinka. Approximately the remaining two thirds of the book depict Slovakian forces in action during the Slovak-Hungarian War, as well as the German invasion of Poland (in which Slovakia was a key ally and participant). It closes with depictions of key officials during wartime administration at home. Notably, each image is accompanied by a caption in Slovakian, repeated in German and French. The book measures 310 mm (w) x 305 mm (h). Age-appropriate wear and material fatigue is evident, and includes some deterioration of the binding, as well as the loss of a small numbers of photos. The book is in an overall very fine condition.
