Canada General Service Medal to the New Brunswick Garrison Artillery

Canada General Service Medal to the New Brunswick Garrison Artillery - FENIAN RAID 1866 (Bmdr. W. Gregg, N.B.G.A.). Naming is officially impressed. Light contact, minor edge nicks and bruising, very fine. Accompanied by muster rolls for the Saint John Volunteer Artillery and the New Brunswick Garrison Artillery. Footnote: Wilson Gregg, originally with the Saint John Volunteer Artillery, was later on the muster roll of the New Brunswick Garrison Artillery, under the command of Lt. Col. Foster, stationed at Fort Dufferin, Sand Cove Beach, and Taylors Island from March to June 1866, with an "Attack expected". Although his medal is impressed "N.B.G.A.", he is listed on page 252 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen, as being with the Saint John Volunteer Artillery, one of only thirteen recipients of the medal from that unit.
