A Second War Japanese Aircrew & Observers Parachute

A Second War Japanese Aircrew & Observers Parachute;  This parachute was manufactured on July 18, 1943 by the Fujikura Aircraft Industry Company Limited (founded in 1939), numbered "18804567" with anchor stamp. The exterior cover is fabricated from a water-resistant canvas, the trim on the cover in orange cotton, with forest green cotton reinforcing patches in the corners, the cover encompassing a white silk parachute. The cover has a circular leather patch stitched in place in the centre with a thick green rip cord protruding from it, the metal core of the handle wrapped in red nylon. There is a fabric label stitched in place on the back, the perimeter of the label trimmed in orange cotton, the label printed in red and black inks, in addition to an un-named owner's fabric label stitched in place on the front near the bottom, the two rules of the label printed in black ink. The front has a small pouch on the front with dual snap closures, with two small metal rings held in place via two rivets each on a lateral lip nearby, the left side with a leather protective patch with dual snap closures housing a red metal handle with twisted wire core, the reverse with a pouch stitched in place, plus a thick green carrying handle sewn in place on the back, the loop of the handle appearing at the top. The exterior is wrapped in seven bungee cords, one running laterally, the other six wrapped longitudinally around the parachute, with a few of the original bungee cords having been lost to time. The parachute measures 330 mm x 420 mm x 120 full packed. A terrific Second World War collectible, very fine. (C:
