A Burmese Dha, Dah Dagger; Shan Region - This old silver hilted example measures 26 cm in legnth in its sheath, with a 15 cm blade. The hilt is a silver bolster and polished metal end cap. The grip consists of finely wrapped silver wiring. The blade is strong and very good quality, extremely sharp. It has a distinct clipped point in Bowie knife style and a full needle tip. The sheath is high quality silver over a timber inner core. The silver sheeting is decorated with fine silver wire work and a large flared base typical of the region. A fine Burmese dagger. (C:41)
