1912 Dominion of Canada Shooting Plate - In sterling Silver, weighing 595 grams, maker marked "BIRKS" on the obverse, the raised rim with five clusters of three maple leaves each, spaced at equidistant intervals, the top cluster fronted by crossed rifles with an overlaying target, the clusters joined by a simulated maple tree branch that runs the full length of the edge of the scalloped rim, the bowl is recessed and displays the coat-of-arms of Canada in the centre, illustrating the provincial shields on Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, framed by an open-ended wreath of maple leaves and surrounded by a flowing ribbon banner inscribed "PRESENTED BY THE DOMINION OF CANADA, TO MEMBERS OF CIVILIAN RIFLE ASSOCns FOR SKILL IN RIFLE SHOOTING" and "WON BY W.H. DAVIDSON MONTREAL A.A.A. RIFLE ASSOc 1912", 280 mm x 285 mm, light contact, scattered tarnish marks, near extremely fine.
