What is a secret max bid?

The secret max bid is the maximum amount you are willing to pay for an item. The system will bid on your behalf in $1 increments to ensure you are the high bidder until your maximum bid is reached. If another bidder has placed a max bid higher than yours, you will be outbid. You can choose to increase your maximum bid at any time, if desired. Once submitted, you cannot retract your bid.

All eMedals bids are private and cannot be seen by other users.

My max bid matches the current bid, why have I received an 'outbid' notification?

If the current bid matches your high bid, but you do not receive a 'High Bidder' notification (as seen on the image of the lot), it means that you have matched another participant's max bid. As their bid was placed first, the system will prioritize their bid. To secure the high bidder status, you must increase your max bid.

Where can I see my max bid?

You can review your max bid for all running auctions in the “My Auctions” section of your account.
