2. A document for a War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to Rosenbrock as a Hauptfeldwebel of 9. Kompanie, Panzergrenadier-Regiment 12, issued at divisional headquarters on 1 September 1943, featuring the handwritten signature of Generalleutnant Dietrich von Saucken (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 6 January 1942; Oak Leaves, 22 August 1943; Swords, 31 January 1944; Diamonds, 8 May 1945), measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A document for a Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to Rosenbrock as a Hauptfeldwebel of 9. Footnote: Friedrich’s Rosenbrock’s recorded war service as recorded by his award documents indicates that he served solely with units of 4. Panzer-Division. Starting with the invasion of Poland, his unit was present at key engagements, including the Battle of Battle of the Bzura, before being shifted westward where it participated in the Battle of France, present at Dunkirk. Following the capitulation of France and start of Operation Barbarossa, 4. Panzer-Division was deployed to the Eastern Front, where Rosenbrock’s documents place him at the Battle of Kursk, followed by a fighting retreat through 1943 and 1944 as the Red Army pushed westward.
