WWII Liberation Commemorative Medal 1940-45 - WWII King Christian X's Medal in Commemoration of the Liberation, 1940-45 - Silver, artist marked "H. SALOMON." on the obverse, very crisp detail, 31 mm x 44.5 mm, on five-sided folded original ribbon with black safety pin, light contact, extremely fine. In its cardboard box of issue, Royal Danish crown on lid, maker marked "A, MICHELSEN KOBENHAVN" on inside lid, recessed medal bed, stain on lid, box very fine. Footnote: King Christian X's Medal in Commemoration of the Liberation, also called the "Pro Dania Medal" (or the Medal of Liberty) was instituted on May 5, 1946 and bestowed upon some 3,100 persons who had rendered special services to Denmark during the German occupation.
