WWI Memorial Scroll to the "The Buffs" 1st Battalion - Four-colour ink on parchment, named in red ink at the bottom to "Pte. Edgar Beach / East Kent Regt.", 173 mm x 275 mm, soiled, fine.Footnote: L/8096 Private Edgar L. Beach was born in 1886, the son of Charles Beach and Eliza Beach, of Rectory Cottages, Cranbrook, Kent. He was with "The Buffs" 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment when he died on November 8, 1914, at the age of 27 and is buried in the Oxford (Botley) Cemetery, Oxfordshire, England, Grave Reference: I1 16. He is remembered with honour on the War Memorial at St. Dunstan's Church in Cranbrook.
