Both likely belonging to Dr.Goodwin during his time in service; First shirt in a khaki cotton twill, with an 8th Army patch in red and white embroidery sewn in place on the left shoulder, a General Headquarters patch in blue, yellow and Army green embroidery sewn in place on the right shoulder, a Technician 5th Class rank insignia in silver embroidery on navy blue cotton sewn in place on the upper sleeves on both sides, just below the aforementioned 8th Army and General Headquarters patches, the front with two large pockets with flaps sewn in place, one on each breast, with a single light brown button closure, a "Ruptured Duck" Honorable Discharge patch in yellow and light brown embroidery sewn in place just above the right pocket, the front completed by seven light brown plastic buttons on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side, a pair of Service Stripes in yellow embroidery on brownish-green wool sewn in place just above the cuff on the left sleeve, the shirt with single button down cuffs and vented on both sides, the inside with a worn manufacturer's label sewn in place along the bottom edge at the right rear and stamped "15" and "32" in black ink just under the collar, with light soiling on the left breast pocket, measuring 440 mm across the shoulders x 800 mm in length. Second shirt in a khaki cotton twill, the shoulders incorporating button down shoulder straps, each held in place by a light brown plastic button, a First United States Field Army patch (the version used after 1950) in red, white and black embroidery sewn in place on the left shoulder, an 8th Army patch in red and white embroidery sewn in place on the right shoulder, two stripe chevrons in Army green embroidery on light brown cotton sewn in place on the upper sleeves on both sides, just below the aforementioned First United States Field Army and 8th Army patches, the front with two large pockets with flaps sewn in place, one on each breast, with a single light brown button closure, the front completed by six light brown plastic buttons on the right side, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side, a pair of Service Stripes in yellow embroidery on light brown cotton sewn in place at the mid-point of the forearm on the left sleeve, the shirt with dual button down cuffs and vented on both sides, the inside stamped in black ink "SHIRTS, COTTON, KHAKI / STAND-UP COLLAR, 8.2 OZ. / REALM REALTY CORP. / 23 DEC. 1948 Q.M.11378 / U.S.A. SPEC. NO. 6-241A / PATT. DATE 9 JULY 1946 / N.Y.Q. M.P.O. / INSPECTOR" at the right rear and stamped "14 x 32" in black ink on the collar, with soiling evident from storage along the entire right front, measuring 420 mm across the shoulders x 780 mm in length. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
