In Gold, a white enamel Maltese cross with the obverse medallion presenting the cypher VRI on a red enamel background, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed with the Order’s motto “VICTORIA”, the central medallion is surmounted by a crown with red and green enamel details, the reverse is plain with a central rivet and a rivet in the middle of the 12 o’clock arm, center of reverse is numbered 681, measures 73.7mm (w) x 76.2mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 60.5 grams, two small enamel chips in the blue enamel ring, otherwise enamels intact, light wear, remains in near extremely fine condition.
The Star, in silver, an eight point star with clusters of faceted rays, the obverse medallion with a white enamelled Maltese cross, the centerpiece featuring the cypher VRI on red enamel background, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed with the Order’s motto “VICTORIA”, the central medallion is surmounted by a crown with red and green enamel details, the reverse of the star features a single vertical Gold pin with two rivets on the base securing the cross, the reverse is numbered 681, measures 86.7mm (w) x 87.0mm (h), weighs 72.5 grams, enamel damage to blue enamel ring, lovely patina, a lovely star in very fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, a brown pebbled exterior, marked G.C.V.O., the interior lid marked COLLINGWOOD JEWELLERS LTD., the base in a green velvet removable medal bed, with storage compartment below for the sash, measures 150mm (w) x 290mm (h) x 43mm (d), minimal wear, hinge and clasp, in extremely fine condition.
