Two Wehrmacht Battalion Standard Postcards - First postcard bearing an Artillery Battalion Standard on a flagpole, with a bluish-tinted background and illustrating two groups of soldiers operating flak guns on the obverse, postmarked "WALDBROL 15.1.38" with the notation "Grundsteinlegung Adolf-Hitler-Schule" (Groundbreaking Adolf Hitler School) below on the reverse; second postcard bearing a Pioneer Battalion Standard on a flagpole, with a violet-tinted background and illustrating two groups of soldiers, one group portaging a barge, the other group constructing a bridge, with a heading inscribed "PIONIERE" above the standard on the obverse, postmarked "BERLIN-WANNSEE 1 11.7.37. - 19" with the notation "kdF Volksfestwoche Gau Berlin Pfaueninsel" (KDF Carnival Week Berlin Gau Peacock Island) below on the reverse. Artwork was designed by Gottfried Klein of Munich on both postcards, printed by Frz. Eher Nachf., GmbH, the central publisher of the NSDAP, in colour, 105 mm x 147 mm, soiling along the edges of the Artillery postcard but does not interfere with the integrity of its illustration, extremely fine.
