The Order of the Crown of Italy; 5th Class Knight's Breast Badge - Fullsize: Gold and enamels, 36.3 mm. Miniature: silver gilt and enamels, 17.6 mm. Both with original ribbons, light contact, near extremely fine. In their hardshelled case of issue, crowned cypher of Victor Emmanuel on the lid, lightly soiled recessed medal beds, tear in the material over the hinged area on the inside, scuffed exterior, case fine. Footnote: The order was founded on February 20, 1868 by Victor Emmanuel II, the first King of United Italy, to commemorate the unification. It was awarded for exceptional service rendered by Italians of foreigners for the good of Italy.
