Inf.-Rgt. 191, comprising: Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, magnetic center, silver frame marked 800 (micro 800 by maker Steinhauer & Lck, Type A), loop marked 800, measures 48.18mmx54.20mm, mounted on an old neck ribbon, in very fine condition. This cross exhibits textbook fingerprints of Steinhauer & Lck - Type A cross, with tiny flaws where 9 oclock and 12 oclock arms meet; and a very small dimple at the lower portion of the 3 oclock arm. Iron cross First Class 1914, magnetic, vaulted, unmarked, very fine, in case of issue (case in fair/good condition); two Iron crosses Second Class 1914, both magnetic, one without ribbon, good/fine condition; two WWI period issue black grade wound badges, magnetic, in good/fine condition; Silesian Eagle first class, tombac and enamels, very fine; two WWI Period patriotic badges; Hindenburg Cross /Swords, no ribbon, fine condition; Infantry Badge silver grade, in zinc, pin back, very fine; Wound Badge 1939, black grade, fine condition. Original documents awarded to Reinhard Fredebold: Iron Cross 1st. Cl. 1914, awarded on 4.9.1917 (Infantry Regiment No. 74); Iron Cross 2Nd. Cl. 1914, awarded on July 1915 (Infantry Regiment No. 74); Wound Badge black grade, awarded on 17.5.1918; Wound Badge black grade, awarded on 23.8.1918; two documents related to TENO School Golden pin Award (one dated 1. October 1920, in Hannover); Wound Badge Black Grade, awarded in field, 30.7.1940; Infantry Assault Badge, awarded on 17.12.1940 (awarded for campaign in France); Infantry Assault Badge, awarded on 15.4.1942 (awarded for campaign in Russia); telegram from Ortsgruppenleiter of Hannover congratulating Major Fredebold on receipt of the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, dated 12.9.1942; telegram from Gauleiter of Hannover congratulating Major Fredebold on receipt of the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, dated 10.9.1942; a letter from TENO Hauptbereitschaftsfhrer in Hannover, congratulating Major Fredebold on receipt of the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, dated 14.9.1942; a letter from TENO Fhrer der Ortsgruppe Hannover, congratulating Major Fredebold on receipt of the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, dated 15.9.1942; a letter from the Commander of the Infantry Regiment 191, to Major Fredebold dated 22.4.1942, in regard to changes to Officer placement; a hand written letter dated 12.9.1942, hardly legible, with about dozen signatures, appears to be a congratulating letter from the Reserve Officers of the 74th Infantry Division (his WWI unit), congratulating Fredebold on his receipt of the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, dated 12.9.1942. Documents showing age, wear, most of them have been folded, some holed on sides, but in generally very good to fine condition, not soiled or damaged. Lot also includes three War time military maps of the Russian Front. Obtained from the recipients descendants.
