What's a max bid?

Spain, Kingdom. A Royal & Distinguished Order of Charles III, Grand Cross Star, c. 1955

(Real y Muy Distinguida Orden de Carlos III). Instituted September 19, 1771 by King Charles III. A silver Maltese cross with heavily faceted arms and ball finials, a large Fleur-de-lis in each quadrant, the obverse medallion in Gold presents the figure of Mary in a white dress with a blue robe featuring small detailed stars, standing on a moon against a yellow background, the base in blue enamel features the motto VIRTUTI ET MERITO (Virtue and Merit), with a green enamelled wreath and III in the center, the reverse presents a single pin assembly with dual stays, unmarked, measures 80.55mm (w) x 80.90mm (h), weighs 57.5 grams, several ball finials and edges of arms slightly bed, enamels chips to the blue of the banner and to the green of the wreath, center medallion every so slightly loose and moveable, in overall near extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The Royal and Distinguished Order of Charles III (Real y Muy Distinguida Orden de Carlos III) was established by King Carlos III/Charles III of Spain on September 19, 1771, to mark the occasion of the birth of his grandson Carlos V/Charles V, future heir of the Spanish thrown. It was dedicated to Immaculate Conception and was confirmed by Pope Clement XIV on February 21, 1772.
