What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

2. Guatemala: Guatemalan Air Force Command Pilot Badge (two-piece construction, insignia in bronze gilt with blue and white enamels, mounted to a bronze gilt base, maker marked "N.S. MEYER, INC. NEW YORK", marked with the N.S. Meyer shield and maker marked "9" over "M" within a shield (N.S. Meyer of New York) and on the reverse, measuring 76.5 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), dual push pins);

3. Israel, State: Unidentified Flight Badge (in silvered metal, marked in Yiddish and numbered "03-6827247" on the reverse, measuring 65.3 mm (w) x 15 mm (h), dual push pins);

4. South Africa, Republic: South African Air Force Pilot Badge c. 1940s (in red, green, white and black embroidery, on a black wool base, white cotton mesh backer, measuring 106 mm (w) x 42 mm (h));

5. South Africa, Republic: South African Air Force Pilot Badge c.1988 (in red, green, white and black embroidery, om a black cotton base, padded, black cotton backer, measuring 97 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), dual push pins);

6. International: Unidentified Air Force Badge (in gold-coloured bullion wire, in various textures, red embroidery in the void of the crown black threading giving definition to the wings, on a dark blue wool base, measuring 55 mm (w) x 30 mm (h)).
