An extremely well-preserved set of “Gunmakers of London: 1350-1850”, by Howard L. Blackmore. It consists of two volumes, each bound with heavy card stock bindings retaining original paper stock dust jackets. The main volume features 222 white paper stock pages bearing a comprehensive index of known gunmakers operating in London during the period specified, supplemented by an index and black-and-white sketches and diagrams. The supplement consists of 156 white paper stock pages with an additional introduction and history of London firearms manufacturing, similarly supplemented by black-and-white sketches, advertisements, and diagrams. Each book measures 225 mm (w) x 286 mm (h), and is accompanied by a period original white card stock slip cover. The set was published in 1999 by Museum Restoration Service of Bloomfield, Ontario and Alexandria Bay, New York. Minor discolouration is evident to the dust jackets of both books, as well as the slip cover, but this fully intact set is in an overall extremely fine condition.
