Germany, Third Reich. A Rare 1939 Mein Kampf Jubilee Edition
(Mein Kampf Jubiläumsausgabe). A rare limited edition of Mein Kampf, published in 1939 by Franz Eher Nachfolger, the official Munich publishing house of the NSDAP. Released as part of the Führer’s 50th birthday celebrations, the book features a heavy card stock binding with a faux dark blue leather exterior. The cover is embossed with a gilt sword and inscription of “MEIN KAMPF” in Fraktur script. The spine features the title and author’s name in gilt lettering, as well as a gilt sunwheel-style swastika. The interior title page features a glossed black-and-white photograph of the Führer with a facsimile of his signature, protected by a wax paper insert. It is followed by 705 pages of text and indexes in Fraktur script, and contains both the first and second volumes comprising the original book. While minor, age-appropriate yellowing and material fatigue is evident, the book presents in an overall extremely fine condition.
