The country was a one-party totalitarian dictatorship, run by Mobutu Sese Seko and his ruling Popular Movement of the Revolution party. Zaire was established following Mobutu's seizure of power in a military coup in 1965, following five years of political upheaval following independence known as the Congo Crisis. Zaire had a strongly centralist constitution, and foreign assets were nationalized. The period is sometimes referred to as the Second Congolese Republic.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46127470182677,"sku":"W5987","price":45.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/m19_18760.jpg?v=1692888801","url":"https:\/\/www.emedals.com\/products\/zaire-republic-an-order-of-civil-merit-iii-class-w5987","provider":"eMedals","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
