Won in 1909 by the Rugby Private School, Warwickshire, this fine silver example is a rare privately held Ashburton Shield, which seldomly come to public auction. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFeaturing a reduced size shield in sterling silver, well hallmarked for Birmingham 1909 and crafted by Elkington \u0026amp; co, with three equally well hallmarked plaques on the surrounding wooden base, with names of team members. Importantly, centre plaque presents H.E. Molson - Captain of the Rugby School Team and a member of the famous Canadian Brewing Family, who would later become Lieutenant-Colonel H.E. Molson B.C.
