It features a 17.5 cm-long, toned, magnetic steel blade which retains a rich and unspoiled crossgrain throughout. The blade meets an elongated oval guard which is stamped on the reverse with a mark of “ENGLAND”, indicating a wartime example exported to the United States. The guard transitions in a striking toned brass handle with its grip executed in a scarcely-encountered “beaded and ringed” style. The stem between the guard and the handle grip is stamped with a Ministry of Supply broad arrow mark above a number “12”. Otherwise unmarked, design and production of this variation is widely attributed to  William Rodgers of Sheffield. The knife culminates with a “doughnut” style pommel nut, indicating mid-war issue. It is accompanied by its original scabbard, constructed of a brown leather shaft capped with a toned brass tip fixture. An additional brown leather panel riveted to the throat retains a functional snap button to firmly hold the knife in place during storage. Minor issues consistent with age and field use are evident, and include faint running marks to the blade, some loss of toning to the handle, and fatigue of the leather elements.
