A superb and complete set of Grand Officer's awards, presenting the neck badge of the order, in high quality Austrian make, in silver gilt consisting of a cross with white, red and blue enameled arms, the obverse medallion in Gold features a centerpiece with a DI cypher on a red enameled field, encircled by a blue enameled ring with the inscription ЗА НЕЗАВИСИМОСТЪ ЦРНЕ ГОРЕ (For the Independence of Montenegro), again surrounded by a white enamel ring, the reverse medallion in Gold presents the year 1852-3 on a red enameled field, encircled by a red enameled ring with the inscription КНЯЗЪ ЦРНОГОРСКІИ (Prince of Montenegro), with a white enamel ring, the badge is surmounted by a large Gold crown with moveable pendilia, measures 50.25 mm (w) x 74.45 mm (h - inclusive of Gold crown suspension), marked on the integral ring with the makers mark VM denoting Vincent Mayer Sohne manufacture, also Austrian silver hallmarks, on original silk ribbon; Accompanied by the matching star of the order, a sixteen point silver star, with each arm consisting of alternating clusters of three smooth and three faceted rays, obverse centre featuring a blue enamelled cross with red and white enamel borders, the central medallion in Gold presents a crowned royal cipher of Danilo I with the Cyrillic inscription “КНЯЗЪ ЦРНОГОРСКІИ” surround, reverse centre with principle pin assembly, measures 71.84 (w) x 71.98 mm (h), weighs 75.2 grams, with Vincent Mayer cartouche, hallmarked on pin, better than extremely fine as a set, simply superb quality and condition.
