Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a double-sided circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a central raised institution date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.8 mm (w) x 44.00 mm (h), weighing 13.0 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame, the lid bearing an inscription of “LUFTSCHUTZ-EHRENZEICHEN 2.
