Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with pinback, consisting of a double-sided circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a mobile swastika circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.76 mm in diameter, weighing 13.3 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux grey leather exterior liner, the lid bearing an inscription of “LUFTSCHUTZ-EHRENZEICHEN 2.
