Jürgen von Goerne-Plaue was born 2 December 1908 and entered Army service in 1928. He became commander of the 29th Panzergrenadier Division. He captured Desna Bridge whilst commander of the division and was awarded the Knight’s Cross. He was decorated with the Iron Cross I and II Class, Knight’s Cross and Golden Party Badge.
