An unusual and well-preserved Luftwaffe overseas cap for a senior female auxiliary, constructed of a dark blue-grey wool-blended cloth with a pronounced whipcord weave. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls which are trimmed along the edge with silver aluminum wire piping. Stitched onto the lower peak of the cap is an insignia consisting of a dark blue-grey wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 35 mm (h). The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece silver-grey rayon liner. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 27.5 cm (l) x 10.5 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Moderate soiling is visible throughout the base cloth, with some material fatigue also evident to the eagle and liner.
