A well-preserved Luftwaffe radio compass, constructed of a slate-grey painted non-magnetic metal casing, the face consisting of a translucent image of a plane overlaying a pointer, in turn surrounded by a white ring featuring directions at cardinal points, surrounded by a white circular dial calibrated from 0° to 360°, retaining an intact transparent face, with a rotating crank handle on the side to manually rotate the directional loop antenna on the aircraft’s exterior for precise line of bearing to the transmitting station, the reverse riveted with a plate bearing marks of “FUNKPEILANZEIGEGERÄT” (“RADIO DIRECTION FINDER”), serial numbers, and a maker’s mark of “PATIN, BERLIN\", the obverse bearing an additional Patin mark and operation information, the interior bearing a wave mark of “291 KHZ” and a date of “22. 10. 40.”, surrounded by four eyelets for rivet attachment to an aircraft console, measuring 25 cm in diameter at its widest point, demonstrating minor loss of paint resulting in some surface oxidation, an untouched example of navigational equipment used in Messerschmitt Bf 110, Dornier Do 17, Do 217, Junkers Ju 88, and Heinkel He 111 aircraft, in better than very fine condition. \u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50014786781461,"sku":"G63351","price":300.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/eMedals_G63351_3.jpg?v=1783624955","url":"https:\/\/www.emedals.com\/products\/germany-luftwaffe-a-radio-direction-finder-by-patin-of-berlin-c-1940-g63351","provider":"eMedals","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
