This is an extensive First War medal ribbon bar featuring four decorations, including a 1914 Iron Cross Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse), instituted by Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III on 17 March 1813, reinstituted by Kaiser Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 (1914-1918 issue), constructed of silver with a blackened magnetic iron core, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a ribbed frame, the obverse with a central raised initial of “W”, with a royal crown on the twelve o’clock arm and a reinstitution date of “1914” on the six o’clock arm, the reverse with central raised oak leaves, with a royal crown and initials of “FW” on the twelve o’clock arm, and an initial institution date of “1813” on the six o’clock arm, unmarked, measuring 42.72 mm (w) x 46.86 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition; a Saxon Military Order of Saint Henry, Knight’s Cross (Kurfürstlich Sächsischer Militär-St. Heinrichs Orden, Ritterkreuz), instituted 7 October 1736 by Friedrich August II (1916-1921 issue), constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with gilded arms partially outlined in white enamel, with the quadrants of each arm joined by green enameled florets within gilded frames, the obverse with a central enameled medallion depicting Saint Henry, surrounded by a blue enameled ring inscribed “FRIDR. AUG. D. G. REX. SAX. INSTAURAVIT” (“FREDERICK AUGUST, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, DUKE OF SAXONY”), the reverse with an analogous medallion depicting a gilded and enameled Saxon coat of arms surrounded by a blue enameled ring with gilt inscription of “VIRTUTI IN BELLO” (“BRAVERY IN WAR”), the twelve o’clock arm with a hollow gilded crown suspension bearing a loop, unmarked, measuring 38.87 mm (w) x 54.37 mm (h), some chipping and loss of enamels evident, in addition to tarnishing of the silver, otherwise in very fine condition; a Saxon Albrecht Order, II Class Knight’s Cross with Swords (Albrechtsorden Ritterkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern), instituted 31 December 1850 by Friedrich August II (1890-1918 issue), constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Latin Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central medallion depicting a rightward-facing profile of Albert III on a white enameled medallion, surrounded by a blue enameled ring with gilt inscription of “ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS” (“ALBERT THE MERCIFUL”) and arabesques, the reverse with an analogous medallion depicting a gilded and enameled Saxon coat of arms on a white enameled background, surrounded by a blue enameled ring with gilt date of “1850” and arabesques, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral ring bearing a loop, unmarked, measuring 35.57 mm (w) x 49.09 mm (h), minor tarnishing and flecking of enamels evident, otherwise in near extremely fine condition, and; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914\/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with central dates of “1914-1918” surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the reverse with a maker’s mark of “G. \u0026amp; S.”, the twelve o’clock with an integral ring bearing a loop, measuring 37.85 mm (w) x 43.04 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; all suspended from their period original ribbons affixed to a 120 mm-long bar with a horizontal pinback, accompanied by a customized case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux wood exterior, the interior with a maroon liner consisting of satin on the lid and felt on the medal bed, with a raised clip accommodating the pinback of the bar, opening with a magnetic metal snap button and dual magnetic metal hinges, unmarked, measuring 170 mm (w) x 95 mm (l) x 35 mm (h), the lid has been physically separated from the bottom portion and both the top and bottom right sides have been lost, in overall fair condition.  \n","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46125676790037,"sku":"M0311-1","price":1350.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/m182_6692.jpg?v=1692883322","url":"https:\/\/www.emedals.com\/products\/germany-imperial-an-order-of-sthenry-albert-order-medal-bar-m0311-1","provider":"eMedals","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
