Numerous Royal Canadian Air Force bases were established across the Yukon, Labrador, and other remote regions as part of the Northwest Staging Route and the transatlantic ferrying network used to move aircraft from North America to operational theatres overseas. Goose Bay Aerodrome in Labrador became one of the most important ferrying and staging points for Allied aircraft between 1941 and 1945 and operated jointly by Canadian and American forces. Whitehorse served as a critical hub along the Alaska Highway and the Northwest Staging Route supplying aircraft moving to Alaska and the Soviet Union. Embroidered crests such as these were produced during the war, often locally or by Canadian manufacturers including Crest Craft of Saskatoon, and were worn or collected by personnel stationed at these isolated northern bases.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"eMedals","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":49803028267285,"sku":"C7481","price":165.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0713\/9105\/2053\/files\/eMedals_C7481_2.jpg?v=1776776876","url":"https:\/\/www.emedals.com\/products\/canada-royal-canadian-air-force-a-group-of-four-second-world-war-northern-air-base-crests-c7481","provider":"eMedals","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
