INF., light contact marks and scattered gilt wear, very fine. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAccompanied by a set of photocopies of Pickering’s attestation papers. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFootnote: William Clifton Pickering was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 9, 1892. He was a printer in Toronto, with one year of experience as a private in the R.G. Bugle Band when he joined the war effort. Pickering enlisted with the 170th battalion on February 11, 1916 in Toronto. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHe proceeded overseas with the 170th in May 1916, ultimately landing in France in December, at which time he was assigned to the 75th battalion. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHe was promoted to Corporal in September 1918. In late 1918 he was wounded by a gas shell and hospitalized. At this time, the 75th battalion was serving in the Hundred Days Offensive, including Canal du Nord and the Battle of Cambrai.
