He was a student in Kingston, Ontario when he enlisted with the 9th field artillery brigade (46th battery), on January 7, 1916. He was appointed to the Royal Flying Corp on May 9, 1917. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePhillips died of an accident on August 16, 1917.
