He was employed as a shipper when he enlisted on September 14, 1915. He arrived in England at the end of May 1916. Price proceeded overseas with the 50th Battalion in August, 1916. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHe was hospitalized in November 1916 for a gunshot wound to the left side of his face, while serving with the 80th battalion at the Battle of the Somme. He was ultimately discharged in early January, 1917.
